Let’s not forget those living north of the Columbia River. Here is a great resource from the fine city of Vancouver.

City of Vancouver Senior Programs Parks and Recreation offers a wide variety of activities, including social clubs, dances, classes, sports, and day-long or overnight trips.

RSVP matches a senior volunteer’s talents and interests with the right activity. People from all walks of life contribute their skills, knowledge and time to worthwhile community efforts. Low-income seniors can work as mentors, tutors, and caregivers.

County governments are a good place to look for information as well.

Multnomah County Senior Centers are Hubs of Activity are nine Senior Centers located throughout Multnomah County. Senior Centers offer a variety of services not available at branch offices, including legal aid counseling, health education programs and activities, e.g. dancing, tai chi, yoga.  There are generally no financial eligibility criteria for participation in Senior Center activities. Washington County is a great resource as well for dynamic older adults.
